PSION 5 JOTTER PROGRAM HELP

Psion 5 Jotter program help

it looks like the official Jotter program was only included in the Psion 3c and Psion 7 Series but not the Psion 5. Is there a version of Jotter that will work with the Psion 5 do you know?

First suggestion:
I'm afraid not... the Jotter is not available for the Psion 5 series...
*BUT* :
The S3c Jotter application can be emulated using Data on the Series 5.
PsiWin 2 will automatically translate Jotter files from earlier machines into Data files.
To set-up a Jotter file using data, create a new file and 'Change labels...' to:
Title (type 'Text', length 50)
Date (type date)
Notes (type 'Memo', length unlimited)

The Date field will default to the current date when records are added, automatically date stamping the records.
Hope this helps!!

Second suggestion:
You can fake up a Jotter for the Psion 5 using the Data application. You can also use this idea to make a daily diary.
I used three labels, Index, Date and Data, and made all with hidden labels.
In View Preferences
Index was done with Arial 11 point bold font. The other two text styles were done with Arial 9 point normal font.
In card view preferences
Had the card browser showing, with card width 55% of screen, and show labels not ticked.
In Tools, Change Labels
Index is of type Text, length 50. Date is of type Date (surprise). Data is of type memo, length unlimited.
I tend to just leave this Jotter open all the time, so I can get at it easily by cycling through all open data files.
It seems to look and work reasonably like the Jotter application I saw on someone's 5mx (this idea is not original to me - I saw someone else doing this).
I have no idea if this will do the trick completely, but certainly worth to have a look at.

REPLY:
Thank you so much for your suggestions in both this email and your previous one. The Data application does a pretty decent job of imitating the Jotter application when setup like suggested.
