Lucky numbers

Lucky numbers

We all know Friday the 13th is a great date or day for some to play games of chance, such as the lottery. But July 7th in 2007 was also quite a special day. You can write that date as 7/7/07 or 7/7/7. That's three lucky seven's in a row on one particular day.

Here's a list of other special dates in the past:
August 8th 2008 (8/8/08)
September 9th 2009 (9/9/09)
October 10th 2010 (10/10/10)
November 11th 2011 (11/11/11), and
December 12th 2013 (12/12/12)

And that was about it for the 2000's

The next special date will be in 3001! (Januari 1, 3001 = 1/1/01). That's quite a wait after December 12th 2013! For Europeans there are more special dates in the 2000's (in Europe the day is followed by the month while in the US the month comes first).

What would you say about July 20th, 2007 ? That's 20/07/2007 or 20072007!
Here's a couple more:

August 20, 2008 (20/08/2008)
September 20, 2009 (20/09/2009)
October 20, 2010 (20/10/2010)
November 20, 2011 (20/11/2011)
December 20, 2013 (20/12/2013)

And that summed it up for the 2000's!

The Europeans will have to wait until January 30th 3001 to have another one

Special dates for the 3000's:

February 30th, 3001 (30/02/3002)
March 30th, 3001 (30/03/3003)
April 30th, 3001 (30/04/3004)
May 30th, 3005 (30/05/3005)
June 30th, 3006 (30/06/3060)
July 30th, 3007 (30/07/3007)
August 30th, 3008 (30/08/3008)
September 30th, 3009 (30/09/3009)
October 30th, 3010 (30/10/3010)
November 30th, 3011 (30/11/3011)
December 30th, 3012 (30/12/3012)

And that's it for the 3000's. Then the Europeans will have to wait for the 4000's!

In the US the following dates are also special (if you can wait long enough):

January 10th, 10001 (10/01/10001) But does that count? There's a 0 too many here. I suppose the last 'special' date in the US must have been December 31st 1231, which was written 12/31/1231.
