The Good Life, is a British sitcom. It was written by Bob Larbey and John Esmonde. Larbey and Esmonde were inspired by Larbey's 40th birthday, which they thought a milestone in most people's lives.They made the characters friends rather than enemies, creating comedy as friendship was tried to its limit.
The series features Richard Briers as Tom Good, a draughtsman who dislikes his job. Becoming self-sufficient is his idea, and Barbara (Felicity Kendall) supports him.
