csi, also known as CSI: Las Vegas, is an American crime drama television series, which premiered on CBS on October 6, 2000. The show was created by Anthony E. Zuiker and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. It is filmed primarily at Universal Studios in Universal City, California. CSI became the most watched show on American television by 2002. The success of the show encouraged CBS to produce a franchise, starting in May 2002 with the spin-off CSI: Miami.
The series features Catherine Willows (Marg Helgenberger) who is in command of the night shift Las Vegas CSI unit following the resignation of Gil Grissom. Born in Las Vegas, Catherine Willows was an exotic danser before going back to school and graduating with a degree in med. science. She first joined the CSI team as a lab technician. Her team includes second-in-command Nick Stokes (played by George Eads), who was Texas-born and -bred; Sara Sidle (Jorja Fox) Greg Sanders, a former DNA Tech, and Morgan Brody, daughter of the under-sheriff and new transfer from Los Angeles.
